Becca asked everyone she

met the same question.

She wasn’t being polite. She need to know. And if your answer was yes, she wanted to hear everything about them.

— AFTER DECEMBER 20, 2020

— OUR DAUGHTER

Becca was sharp, witty, and an avid dog lover.

Becca was a student at Monroe County ISD or many years. She loved her friends, teachers, and staff.

Outside of school, you could find her petting her dog, Sadie, crafting, or winning many rounds of Uno.

As soon as she learned your name, she immediately wanted to know your dog’s name.

Sometimes, Becca had a rough day at school. On those day, simply petting Sadie always helped her calm down.

Now, we want Becca’s friends to have a dog at school to support them, just like Sadie supported Becca.

“Do you have a dog?” — Becca
“Do you have a dog?”
Becca — to every stranger, every time

Becca showed us what a dog like this could mean. Now we make sure every student who needs one, has one.

In the weeks after we lost Becca, we kept coming back to that question. If a dog was the one thing that could reach her on the hard days, how many other of her friends needed the companionship of a dog on their hard days, too?

We started The Rebeccah Williams Foundation in 2021. We currently work with Paws With A Cause to place trained facility dogs in schools throughout Michigan. The first dog, Dexter, was placed in Becca’s school in 2023.

Four years in, we have four dogs in four schools. We want fifty-four more.

Her question is still being answered

— one dog, one classroom at a time.
